Daycare Cook / Meal Prep

Part-Time | Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Pay: $15–$17 per hour DOE

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and caring individual to join our team as a Daycare Cook. This position plays an essential role in supporting the health and well-being of the children in our care by preparing nutritious meals in a safe, structured, and efficient environment.

Position Overview

The Daycare Cook is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast and snacks in accordance with state childcare licensing regulations and CACFP guidelines. This position also maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen environment while ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed at all times.

This is a part-time position, Monday–Friday from 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM. No evenings or weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily meals and snacks for children (infant through school-age)
• Follow approved menus and portion guidelines
• Maintain compliance with licensing, health department, and food safety regulations
• Carefully monitor food allergies and dietary restrictions
• Maintain accurate food production records and temperature logs
• Keep kitchen, appliances, and storage areas clean and organized
• Manage food inventory, including ordering commercial-made items and conducting routine grocery store purchases
• Support special events and classroom activities as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation (school, childcare, restaurant, or institutional setting preferred)
• Knowledge of basic nutrition and food safety practices
• Ability to pass state-required background checks
• Food Handler’s Permit (or willingness to obtain)
• ServSafe Manager Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs
